Holiday Lights at the Beach is a holiday tradition that brings joy and wonder to Hampton Roads every holiday season! Join us this year from Thanksgiving Day through New Year’s Eve. November 23, 2017 to December 31, 2017 Location: 2nd Street & the Boardwalk 2017 brings a new experience to the boardwalk at Holiday Lights Maola Milk Merry Mile…a nautical and holiday fantasy of lights spread over a dozen blocks – from 8th Street to 22nd Street. This year’s light show will feature over 50 of our most popular, hand-picked displays along the boardwalk and beach. The entrance will still be at 2nd Street. This shorter, more intimate light show features a shiny journey into nautical, holiday, and adventure lands – all along the beautiful Virginia Beach boardwalk. Festive fish, jumping dolphins, frolicking porpoises – all in bright, colored lights against the clear night-time sky, are the stars of Holiday Lights Merry Mile. Ring In 2018 during Virginia Beach’s “Last Night on the Town”

Celebrate the “Last Night on the Town,” the City of Virginia Beach’s premier New Year’s Eve event! The festivities kick off mid-afternoon at Pembroke Mall with family entertainment throughout the mall by Magical Solutions, Inc., including a children’s countdown and balloon drop at 5:00 PM. Enjoy musical entertainment by Mosaic Steel Orchestra outside of the mall. The fun continues until midnight at Town Center of Virginia Beach with live music on multiple stages. Opening acts include J & the Band in the Fountain Plaza, with WOAH! and MOER kicking off the party on the main stage. This year’s headline band is national recording artist 10,000 Maniacs! A midnight countdown with a spectacular laser light show, fireworks, and Virginia Beach Ball Drop will ring in 2018. All activities and entertainment are free and open to the public, with food and adult beverages available for purchase. A separate, ticketed VIP Party hosted by the Central Business District Association will be held stage side in a heated tent, providing VIP guests with the best views of the festivities! Oceanfront Polar Plunge

Polar Plunge in Virginia Beach It’s that magic time of year when the most die hard of Virginia Beach ocean goers will brave the freezing cold February water for a good cause. Better than multiple cups of coffee, they will dash across the sand, abandoning common sense and that little voice of their mom telling them they will catch a cold. In fact, who cares. This is a bucket item you can mark off the list. And on top of that you get to visit the oceanfront. Here are a few questions, pointers, and observations about this event. Military Aviation Museum

Military Aviation Museum is home to one of the largest collections of historic military aircraft. These vintage WWI and WWII aircraft, such as our P-51 Mustang,  de Havilland Mosquito, Curtiss P-40 and Spitfire, have been restored to their original flying condition.
