Winter Fun

While a kayak trip may not be the first thing that comes to mind when planning your winter trip to Virginia Beach, it can become one of the most memorable. When you explore by kayak, you experience nature at its most pristine and undisturbed. With no engines, or props, to propel you, you slow down and take a step back in time. You become more connected with nature. The birds, fish, and other wildlife seem to relax a bit…allow you to get a little closer. Your mind relaxes too. The stress of your every day life can be instantly melted with the sight of a beautiful sunset, the intoxicating scent of fresh air, spending real quality time with your family, or the sounds of un-touched nature. {More}

Holiday Lights Maola Milk Merry Mile

Holiday Lights at the Beach is a holiday tradition that brings joy and wonder to Hampton Roads every holiday season! Join us this year from Thanksgiving Day through New Year’s Eve. November 23, 2017 to December 31, 2017 Location: 2nd Street & the Boardwalk 2017 brings a new experience to the boardwalk at Holiday Lights Maola Milk Merry Mile…a nautical and holiday fantasy of lights spread over a dozen blocks – from 8th Street to 22nd Street. This shorter, more intimate light show features a shiny journey into nautical, holiday, and adventure lands – all along the beautiful Virginia Beach boardwalk. Festive fish, jumping dolphins, frolicking porpoises – all in bright, colored lights against the clear night-time sky, are the stars of Holiday Lights Merry Mile. They are joined by Santa and his elves. Drivers will be able to tune their car radio to a frequency to hear holiday music along the Holiday Lights at the Beach display, making it easy to see AND hear why this event has been named one of […]

Oceanfront Polar Plunge

Polar Plunge in Virginia Beach It’s that magic time of year when the most die hard of Virginia Beach ocean goers will brave the freezing cold February water for a good cause. Better than multiple cups of coffee, they will dash across the sand, abandoning common sense and that little voice of their mom telling them they will catch a cold. In fact, who cares. Where do I go for times, dates, parking and more information? Here is a link to the Polar Plunge site How much time do you spend in the water? Run in, run out fast.. February “water sports” in Virginia Beach February does not really have a lot of outdoor water events. It is not July. In fact I think this is the only winter month with a water event. Thus it will be months until you can, or want, to do this again. What is the charity? Your efforts are not in vain. Your sub arctic plunge or Atlantic Avenue “wind” sprint […]
